Do What’s Best for Teachers

By. Craig Perrier

The title of this post is inspired by a lone principals’ message to a committee of administrators that reminded them that making teachers’ conditions optimal has a positive impact on students’ experiences.  It was a (unfortunately) rare example where teachers were centered in a profession that is continuously demanding.

As a rule for our profession, educators are, by and large, a selfless group of people.  Their time is dedicated to the well being of other people’s children, provide a social service that is consistently underrated, and are in a field that is subject to regular criticism. Still, having been an educator for over two decades, in multiple states, and across a variety of contexts, I stand by this claim as the norm not the exception.

So, when the Educators Marketplace features opportunities dedicated to educators, I am compelled to share them far and wide.  My highlights below represent just a small sample of appreciation.  You can see the full collection dedicated to educators here.

  • Quicksilver: Teachers are heroes too, which is why they are eligible for Quiksilver’s 30% hero discount on apparel for surfing, snowboarding, or just relaxing at the beach.
  • GelPro: To show our appreciation for hard-working teachers, GelPro is proud to offer 25% off online purchases.
  • Gaiam: Through our program, you’ll save 50% on most products, including yoga gear.
  • Crocs: We are dedicated to the future of comfort for teachers who get 15% off.
  • J. Crew: Get 15% off this season’s styles with your teacher discount at J. Crew. This offer is available to K-12 teachers and higher education faculty
  • 1-800-Flowers: Send flowers or gifts for all occasions and save up to 50%. Teachers and support staff SAVE an additional 20%.

Doing what’s best for teachers is something that should be said, and done, more often. Please, join me in celebrating teachers for their dedication and service. Thank you and enjoy!
