Springing Forward

By. Meredith Biesinger

Spring has always inspired me. I love when there is more daylight, the weather gets warmer, and everything is in bloom! It puts a “spring” in my step and re-energizes me for the last quarter of the school year.

This time of year also tends to be when many people focus more on their personal and professional goals. Maybe it’s the weather or the fact that summer break is nine weeks away, but if you’re looking to renew and refresh, here are some helpful hints to spring forward!

Wake up thirty minutes earlier than usual, specifically to accomplish something for yourself. Whether it’s thirty minutes of mindfulness, exercise, or a personal project, being an early bird is beneficial for your overall wellbeing!

Speaking of exercise, dedicate at least thirty minutes of movement to your day. Whether you walk around your neighborhood, go to the gym, or work out at home, your body will thank you!

Go through your clothes and sort anything out that doesn’t fit or that you don’t wear anymore. After you’ve organized your closet, donate or sell these items and purchase a few budget-friendly spring/summer pieces at TJ Maxx. Put a little pep in your step with a closet refresh.

Educators are lifelong learners. Maybe you’re looking at taking a class this summer, joining a particular interest group, or starting a side hustle? Dell has incredible deals for educators to have the tools they need to accomplish their goals.

Perhaps you’re looking for peace and quiet (aren’t we all)? If so, gift yourself a small amount of time to meditate, listen to music, or read. A little mindfulness goes a long way. There are many ways to invite a sense of renewal into our daily routine. Enjoy the sun, enjoy your students, and smile because spring is here.
